Shifu Michael Whetstone began his seven star mantis training in the late 1980s under shifu Othal Thomas II and received permission to teach in the 1990s.
Shifu Whetstone is at present teaching in Brooklyn New York.
Shifu Whetstone demonstrated Tang Lang Chu Dong at shifu Carl Albright school’s grand opening in 2000 and got the chance to meet and take pics with shifu Chui Chuen Luen.
