Harmony by Meshach Harvey
Harmony
Yang
I move like the explosion of a galaxy
I strike like a tidal wave on the sea shore
I focus with the intensity of a beam of light
I respond like an echo shouted fiercely in the wind
My gaze pierces through mountains
I walk like an earthquake, my voice is like thunder
I consume all obstacles in my path In the end I consume even myself.
Yin
I move like the implosion of a galaxy
I do not strike, but absorb all force inflicted upon me
I am like quicksand or a vortex in the sea
I am softer than wool, smoother than silk
I swallow but I do not spit out
I am a black hole not even light escapes me
I am more subtle than a feather drifting in the breeze
In the end I absorb even myself.
