He started his gong fu training under shifu Kai Uwe Pel. Later shifu Holger Heek was accepted as a student of shifu Lee Kam Wing. In 1996 shifu Holger Heek was asked to leave the “Lee Kam Wing Assoc, Hong Kong”.

Shifu Holger Heek runs a mantis school in Munster, Germany.
